Rev. Dn. Michael Giavris is a clergyman of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He grew up in the Chicago suburbs and Tripoli, Greece. Following his undergraduate studies at UIC and Hellenic College, he studied graduate level theology at Holy Cross in Boston and Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. He is a certified instructor of Byzantine Music with a teaching license from the Central Music Conservatory of Thessaloniki. In addition to several years of dedicated service to the Archdiocese in varying capacities, Dn. Michael served the Ecumenical Patriarchate for two years as a Patriarchal fellow prior to his ordination in February 2020. He is currently based in New York City, where he works in the Office of the Archbishop, and is involved with the Archdiocesan School of Byzantine Music, as well as with the Archdiocesan Byzantine Choir.
